On June 15th, BMW China Innovation Day was held at the BMW Brand Experience Center and the newly unveiled BMW Group Shanghai R&D Center. The event showcased the latest developments in the BMW Group's open innovation, digital services, autonomous driving and automotive design. Dr. Shao Ruting, Senior Vice President of R&D Center of BMW (China) Service Co., Ltd. attended the unveiling ceremony of BMW Group Shanghai R&D Center.


The opening of the Shanghai R&D Center is another important milestone after the unveiling of the Beijing R&D Center and the second phase of the Shenyang Power Battery Center last month. The BMW Group has also implemented another important milestone in the “China for China” local R&D strategy, marking the BMW Group’s China's innovation and research and development network is further enhanced. BMW attaches great importance to China's leading position in the field of innovation, continuously increases local R&D investment, and plays China's role as a driving force for innovation.
